Belmont Punishes UNCC to finish the season 4-4

Belmont went to UNCC with a purpose and it showed. From the start of the game Belmont layed hard hits and used their power and speed to hamer the young kids of charlotte. Belmont played a complete game.they destroyed uncc in the scrums driving them back off the ball and pushing back down the field. Rucking was a little slow at first, but then the Barbos started hit the rucks strong which really killed any chance of uncc making a play. Our strong point saturday was without a doubt the backline. They held strong on defense and contained the young speed on uncc with ease. On offense they drove up the field beautifuly passing the ball back and forth like pros. This was by far the best game the Barbos have played yet. The flow of the game was great and everyone did their job, and did it well. We now have completed a great feat we finished our fall with a .500 record. Great job guys that is a feat that other clubs who have been around 7 or 8 years have yet to do.  Our Man of the Match was of course Henny. Henny you will be missed on the pitch. We better still see you around the club. Thanks for all the hard play and instruction we appreciate everything.

Belmont hits the century mark against Royals 105-8

This Sat Nov 8 Belmont Barbarians manhandled the Royals with a huge score of 105-8. Belmont started the scoring early and didnt let up all game. Hennie had 4 or 5 trys, Hollywood had 5, Puke, Mealplan, Mantoy, Dave, Scott, John, JB all had at least 1or 2 a piece. Great play from everyone on the pitch. JB was the Man of the Match scoring 2 or 3 trys and playing outstanding defense preventing quite a few trys. Scott got to see JB’s D upclose. only 1 injury to report Gibby now talks with a lisp, hmm sounds questionable. Belmont’s fall record now 3-4 lets try to finish strong and get over the .500 mark.

Barbos whore over and make presence known

Sat Gibby and Hollywood whore over w/ Gastonia vs Southern Pines. Southern Pines defeated Gastonia 59-5. Hollywood scored Gastonia’s only points. Hollywood played a great game at inside center and help limit the SoPo scoring to only 59. Gibby came in the second half and contained the wing allowing no trys on his side the 2nd half.  Southern Pines realized that we would be a much better competitor than Gastonia and are really looking forward to us coming with a whole team.

Socialites Get Us Again 31-19

We lost a rough one 31-19. We only had 15 so we had to play with no subs. They had a steady Super League backline sub in and out and our backline played right with them. Our pack pounded them too. Everyone played a great game and put it all on the line. Unfortanely we lost Head for the fall to another injury (ribs). Puke finally scored a try, and Man of the Match was Richard. Richard you get better and better every game. Once again we really impressed everyone at the Charlotte Club with our good play. Great job everyone.

Asheville defeats Belmont 38-14

Asheville pounds Belmont 38-14. Belmont fought hard but Ashevilles pack was too much. Belmont’s backline did well when they got the ball, but that was the problem they didnt get it much. The pack got out played in the rucks and mauls. numbers going up were great we actually had two subs for the backline. packies we got to get to the matches. cheers to big Dave Hamilton as our man of the match.

Barbos even record to 2-2 with a big win over Lander

Barbos improved their record to 2-2 with a big 64-29 victory over Lander College. Belmont played great in all areas of the game. the backs played beautifully hitting hard and had great attacks on offense. ball handling and passing was beautiful by the backline. the pack won all offensive scrums and about five defensive. pack also rucked and supported the backs great. really inspiring was the fact that the few guys we sent over to whore with Lander ended up being some of their best players. Ricky, Nick and Gibby you guys played a great game. the Man of the Match caleb “Hollywood” jonas.

Game 3 SO Pines

Game 3 Barbos short on numbers team up with Southern Pines B and play Southern Pines A side. Just a fun day of rugby all Barbos played really well. Eddie, Steven and Hollywood played a great game in the pack, Scott Gibby and Aaron played a great game on the backline. Nick had a hell of a first game at scrummy. we lost 34-14 not bad considering. most importantly we showed balls of steel in a great boat race sabotaged by gibby. Scott and Hollywood gave a sustantial lead to gibby who shat the bed in dramatic fashion. we gave them a real scare though. with our full squad we can take them down.

Game 2 Touch it Down Touch it Down

Game 2 was a really tough match against a really really experienced team. Barbos fought hard and had the lead most of the game only to come up seven short after giving up 3 tries in the last five minutes to lose. Congrats to Gibby on his first boot and try. Scott i think was man of the match. Steven touch it down touch it down. final score a heartbreaker L 31-24

Our first match of fall was a hot one. Barbos jumped all over Davidson and did not let up. Winning their first match 54-19. Congrats to who Ricky scored his first try and enjoyed shooting his fist boot. Puke named man of the match. This game was a great way to start the season off.
